Spanner
Brief Description :

    These are gripping tools used to tighten or loosen fasteners like nuts and bolts. They are used for the tighter grip they provide. Typically, spanners are made from steel alloys, such as chrome vanadium steel.

    Some of commonly used spanners on P. Way on Indian Railways are as under:

    Fish-bolt/Crossing bolt / Hook Bolt spanners used by Keymen / gang :
    For Fish-plated rail joint / Tightening of Hook Bolt etc. The length of the bolt is about 600 mm such that it can offer adequate lever arm to tighten / loosen the bolt by one trackman / Key man
