Lamps

1. H.S. Lamps

Tri-color H.S.Lamps (now- LED Lamps), are essential equipment for protection of track. It has 3 colours - Green, Red and Yellow, for exhibiting the signals as per requirement. Previously these lamps were lit using kerosene and normal lenses. But now-a-days, they are mostly battery powered with LED lamps.

2. Gate Lamp

Gate Lamps are provided at Level Crossing Gates for indication to road users. When the Level Crossing Gate is closed to road users, gate lamps exhibit red signal to road users. Earlier days, these lamps were lighted by the Gateman at sunset and remained lighted till sunrise but now a days it has been replaced by electrical lamps.
