Hammer is used to drive keys, spikes, nails, bolts and wedges. They are also used to strike chisels, punches and shape metals. Hammer conforming to IS: 841 are used as striking tools. Hand hammer is light in weight and used by the smith himself. Sledge hammer is heavier in weight and is used by the smith's helper.
